ENVIROMENTAL POLICY<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Selana Apartments, considering their environmental footprint, the conservation of energy and natural resources as well as the principles of sustainable development, aim to a considerate use of water, electricity and natural resources in general, minimizing the effects of tourist accommodation establishments to the environment.\nFor this reason, Selana Apartments invite its guests to back up and contribute to a smaller environmental footprint from its day to day operation. \nIn order to achieve the environmental goals set above, Selana Apartments are committed to their environmental policy and have carried out the following:<\/p>\n

To achieve energy conservation by:<\/strong><\/strong>
\n\u2022<\/strong> using light bulbs with low energy consumption or led lights in all public areas and accommodations
\n\u2022 ensuring that all rooms are equipped with breakers on balcony doors that shut off the power of A\/Cs in the rooms in order to save energy
\n\u2022 using the suitable solar thermal equipment, we cover 100% our needs for general use hot water from the solar energy from May to October
\n\u2022 ensuring that all rooms are equipped with electronic cards that shut off the power supply when the guest removes the key before leaving the room
\n\u2022 using environmentally friendly A\/C units, which operate at an efficient temperature range to avoid extreme energy consumption, i.e. 24\u00b0C lowest temperature during the summer and highest during the winter.
\n\u2022 the choice of green, energy-efficient equipment
\n\u2022 seeking and updating about alternative energy sources<\/p>\n

To achieve water conservation by: <\/strong><\/strong>
\n\u2022 changing towels every two days and sheets every four days
\n\u2022 installing water conservation devices at the taps, which also reduce the volume of waste water to be treated.<\/p>\n

To reduce the solid waste we dispose of by:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 separating our waste streams including glass, paper, cans, batteries, organic wastes, cooking oils etc. and recycling these materials
